Interaction
Participation of and interaction with different stakeholders and citizens play a focal role in the preparation and impact assessment of the Helsinki Region Transport System Plan HLJ. Legislation requires that citizens and stakeholders are heard: HLJ is regulated by the Act on the Assessment of the Impacts of the Authorities' Plans, Programmes and Policies on the Environment (SEA Act).
The language used in the interaction is mainly Finnish. Detailed information (dates and contents) of interactive community meetings related to Helsinki Region Transport System Plan will be available e.g. on the Finnish language version of this website.
You can get information on the progress of the plan (in Finnish) by joining HLJ mailing list. You can join the mailing list by sending a request to hlj@hsl.fi. In addition, you can send feedback or suggestions regarding the transport system plan to the same address also in English.
Moreover, citizens and stakeholders can air their views in public meetings. The first such meeting was held on 1 October 2009, and the second 16 November 2010.
