Helsinki region public transport over the New Year
On New Year’s Eve, a Saturday service will operate. There will be additional bus service and early morning buses will run on the Saturday/Sunday night. The Kamppi bus terminal will be closed at 2.30am on New Year's Eve night, after which buses to Espoo will depart from Kamppi metro station (street level).
Due to New Year’s celebration at the Senate Square tram routes 3B, 3T, 4, 4T, 7A and 7B will be diverted on New Year’s Eve from around 7.30pm until the end of service. Buses will replace tram services in Eira and Katajanokka. There will be no tram service or replacement buses on Aleksanterinkatu and in Kruununhaka.
On New Year’s Day, a Sunday service will operate.
Diversion routes
Trams 3B and 3T will run to the terminus of tram 1A in Eira and change their route number there. The trams are supplemented by bus 3X which will run along Tehtaankatu and Laivasillankatu.
Passengers can transfer from the trams to bus 3X in Viiskulma. The bus will leave from the Viiskulma stop of bus 14 (1174) on Pursimiehenkatu. At the Market Square, the bus will use the Kauppatori stop of bus 16 (2004).
Bus 3X will run the route Pursimiehenkatu – Laivurinkatu – Tehtaankatu – Laivasillankatu – Eteläranta – Kauppatori (Market Square) – Eteläranta – Laivasillankatu – Tehtaankatu – Laivurinkatu – Fredrikinkatu – Bulevardi – Albertinkatu – Pursimiehenkatu. The bus will stop at all tram stops along the route except for the stop by the Market Square.
Trams 4 and 4T will run to the terminus of tram 6 in Hietalahti. Bus 4X will replace the trams between Lasipalatsi and Katajanokka. The bus will depart from a temporary bus stop located in front of Lasipalatsi on Mannerheimintie. The bus will run to Katajanokka along Eteläesplanadi, in the other direction it will run along Pohjoisesplanadi.
In addition, bus 4TX will run to Katajanokka terminal. The bus will depart from the temporary bus stop in front of Lasipalatsi at 8.33pm and 8.´50pm and from the Katajanokka terminal at 8.46pm, and 9.03pm. The bus will run the same route as bus 4X between Lasipalatsi and Kruunuvuorenkatu and then proceed to the terminal along Mastokatu. The buses will stop at the bus stops marked on the route map.
Trams 7A and 7B will run via Kaivokatu. They will not run along Aleksanterinkatu, Snellmaninkatu and Liisankatu.

Additional service
On the Saturday/Sunday night, there will be additional bus service until about 3-4am. The Metro as well as buses 85B and 86B will operate two hours longer than usually. Other Metro feeder services will operate as usual. Commuter trains will operate later than at normal weekends.

Epiphany
On 5 January, a Friday service will operate. In Espoo, the service routes will run on the Thursday schedule. On U line buses, a Friday service will operate. On route 280, the 6.15 departure from Helsinki will not operate.
On Epiphany, 6 January a Sunday service will operate. Early morning buses and night commuter trains will operate on the Friday/Saturday night. Several bus routes will have additional departures.

Route 492 from Helsinki at 1.40am and 3.30am and from Klaukkala at 0.55am and 2.25am

The Travel Information Centre will provide personal service on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day from 9am to 5pm, on 5 January from 7am to 7pm and on Epiphany 6 January from 9am to 5pm.
