Choose the mode of transport to suit your needs

It is not always necessary to own a car; it is often even not economical. The public transport system in the Helsinki metropolitan area provides seamless travel for both commuting and leisure purposes.  Choosing public transport as your primary mode of transport is a choice for the good of the environment – and also a way of saving money. You can use the travel time e.g. for reading while at the same time avoiding the stress of driving in congestion.

If you do not want to use your money for car maintenance and only need a car occasionally, a car club can be the answer. City Car Club offers a substantial benefit for regular public transport users.

City Car Club membership offers you the possibility of using a car as you need when you need. A variety of cars is available to be collected at over 80 locations in Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa. You can use the car for exactly the time you need it, e.g. two hours or use the service for holiday trips of several weeks.

You can book a car either online or by calling the club’s booking centre.  When booking, you can choose the pick-up location, duration and car model. You can collect, open and return the car using your mobile phone. Invoicing is based on reserved time and kilometres driven.
