Ticketing and Information System

Renewal of the current Helsinki Region Travel Card system kicked off in 2006 when the Executive Board of YTV launched the Ticketing and Information System 2014 (TIS2014) project. The new Ticketing and Information System 2014 will introduce Travel Cards based on new technology, as well as real-time passenger information in two phases.

In the first phase of the TIS2014 project, new ISO 14443 compliant Travel Cards are introduced alongside the currently used cards in 2009-2010. In phase 2, the whole system is renewed. The new system will be in full use by the end of 2015. 

Helsinki Regional Transport Authority assumed responsibility for the project at the beginning of 2010.
