1 - 7 day tickets
A day ticket available on a single-charge card is handy if you need to make several journeys during one day or several days. You can choose the number of days for your ticket from 1 to 7 days. You can purchase the ticket conveniently in advance. The ticket is valid from the time it is first used, including during the night fare hours.
You can choose the area for which you need a ticket. Day tickets are loaded on single-charge cards. There are one-zone tickets, regional tickets, as well as 2-zone and 3-zone extended regional tickets. The tickets are available separately for adults and children (aged 7-16 years). Single-charge cards are not personal which means they can be used by any person holding the card.
The tickets are available at R-kiosks in the Helsinki metropolitan area, VR’s booking offices, Stockmann department stores, K-Citymarkets, Prisma stores, Helsinki City Tourist Office, Tourist information at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport, HSL’s service points at the Central Railway Station and in Itäkeskus and Pasila (as of 21 May 2012) as well as at Citizens’ Offices in Espoo and Vantaa. Single-charge cards are sold also on Silja Serenade, Silja Symphony and Viking XPRS passenger ferries.
An easy to use alternative
Show the single-charge card to the card reader when boarding a vehicle or entering the metro. The area of validity is registered on the card at the moment of purchase and thus, you only need to show the card to the reader without pressing any of the buttons. If your ticket is valid, the card reader emits an audible and a green light appears. The ticket is valid from the time it is first used. To check the expiry time of your ticket, hold the card on the reading area of the card reader.

The tickets are valid from the moment of purchase. From ticket machine you can buy a Helsinki internal ticket or a regional ticket valid in Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen and Vantaa.
