Additional services and diversions to bus routes due to an orienteering competition

The Valio-Jukola orienteering competition is held in Hakunila, Vantaa on 16 – 17 June. The event is expected to attract some 70,000 participants and spectators. HSL encourages people to use public transport by providing additional bus services to the event venue.

Bus 68X will run between the Hakunila Sports Park and Tikkurila railway station every 10-20 minutes. Regional route 740 will have additional services on both days. Route 741N will have additional services in the early morning and morning of Sunday 17 June. Route 62 will have an additional service from Mellunmäki to Hakunila on Sunday at 3.35am.

Bus routes 69 and 742 will be diverted in Hakunila due to the competition as Hevoshaantie and Sotungintie will be closed to traffic from 8am on Saturday to 4pm on Sunday. Buses 69 and 742 will be diverted to run along Hakunilantie, Koulutie and Kuninkaanmäentie.

HSL participates in Valio-Jukola also by offering free tickets for accredited participants of the competition. When as many people as possible use public transport during mass events, also the smooth flow of other traffic is ensured. Thanks to its good public transport services, the Helsinki metropolitan area is an attractive place for large events.

From Tikkurila to Kerava and Helsinki with commuter trains N, I, H, R and Z.

There will be additional buses during the competition days. Line 68X operates from the crossing of Hakunilantie and Hevoshaantie to Tikkurila railway station every 10-20 minutes from Saturday 10:00 to Sunday 0:30. On Sunday the line 68X operates from Hakunila to Tikkurila every 20 minutes between 8:17 and 12:57.

The bus stops of the lines 62 and 562 are located at the shopping center of Hakunila to which it is about 1 km from the guide pole. The bus stops of the other lines are located at the crossing of Hakunilantie and Hevoshaantie, next to the Hakunila swimming hall, to which it is about 400 m from the guide pole.

A regional single ticket to Helsinki or Espoo and a two-zone extended regional ticket to Kerava via Tikkurila costs €4.50 (at night between 2.00 and 4.30, the price is €6.00). A Vantaa internal single ticket (e.g. to Tikkurila) costs €2.70 (at night between 2.00 and 4.30, the price is €4.00). You can purchase a ticket from the driver.
