Tram routes diverted on 26 June
The opening ceremony of the European Athletics Championships 2012 will be held on Tuesday 26 June from 6pm to 11pm at the Senate Square. Aleksanterinkatu, Snellmaninkatu and Unioninkatu will be closed to traffic during the ceremony. Tram routes 1A, 3B, 3T, 4, 4T, 7A and 7B will be diverted approximately from 6pm to 11.30pm.
- Tram 1 A will run from Hakaniemi to Eira via Central Railway Station, Bulevardi and Fredrikinkatu. The tram will not serve Kruununhaka, the Market Square and the eastern end of Tehtaankatu.
- Tram 3B will run from Fredrikinkatu to the terminus of tram 1A in Eira. The tram will not serve the eastern end of Tehtaankatu. From Eira, the tram will continue under route number 3T along Bulevardi, Mannerheimintie and Simonkatu, from where the tram will resume its normal route.
- Tram 3T will run along Simonkatu, Mannerheimintie and Bulevardi to the terminus of tram 1A in Eira, from where it will continue under route number 3B.
- Trams 4 and 4T will run to the terminus of tram 6 in Hietalahti.
- Trams 7A and 7B will run via Central Railway Station. Aleksanterinkatu and Kruununhaka will not be served.
Bus 3X replacing trams 3B and 3T will run along the following route: Viiskulma–Laivurinkatu–Tehtaankatu–Laivasillankatu–Eteläranta–Market Square. Passengers can change to trams 3B and 3T at the Viiskulma stop. Bus 4X will run to Katajanokka. Passengers can change from tram 4 to the bus 4X at the Erottaja stop on Mannerheimintie.
