Trams to Katajanokka replaced by buses 23 July – 12 August

Trams 4 and 4T will not be able to run to Katajanokka due to a district heating work in Mariankatu from 23 July to 12 August. The trams will turn at the Market Square and return to Munkkiniemi. At the Market Square, the trams will use the stop of tram route 1 (stop number 0429).

Buses 4X to Merisotilaantori and 4TX to the Katajanokka terminal will replace the trams between the Market Square and Katajanokka. At the Market Square, the buses will leave from the stop of bus 16 (2004) located on Eteläesplanadi.

Where do the replacement buses stop?

The buses will mainly stop at tram stops in Katajanokka.

The buses will not stop, however, at Katajanokan puisto (0410) (in the direction of the city center) or at the Katajanokka Terminal (0420). Instead there are replacement bus stops a short distance away. The stop at Katajanokan puisto (0410) is replaced by a stop at the end of Kruunuvuorenkatu and the stop at the Terminal (0420) by a temporary stop 50 meters ahead.

The buses will also use the stop of bus 16 (2005) located on Eteläesplanadi. Neither of the Ritarihuone tram stops (0407 and 0408) on Aleksanterinkatu will be served at all.
The replacement buses will mainly operate on the timetable of the trams.
