Performing arts and festivals on the Culture Tram as of 11 January
The Culture Tram will resume operation on route 7B after Christmas break on Wednesday 11 January. The program of cultural activities will be even more extensive than before for passengers can enjoy performing arts on all days the tram operates, i.e. from Wednesday to Friday.
In January, the performers will include, among others, singer-songwriter Maija Moisio; Hohka, a group performing modern folk music; Swedish pop/folk musician Third Brother; Siitä pitäen poetry reading group with composer-musician Petra Lampinen; and rock-trio Puhuri. In addition to live performances, there will also be four photo exhibitions during the year. Cooperation with the Distribution Centre for Finnish Media Art will also continue.
Every month, the Culture Tram program will also feature tidbits of one city festival taking place in Helsinki. This year, the festivals featured in the program include, among others, Docpoint in January as well as Flow, Pixeliähky, Circo, Stage and Helsinki Design Week. Live performances take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 5.14pm and 6.070pm, starting from the Töölön halli tram stop on Mannerheimintie (in the direction of the city center).
The Culture tram is a joint project of HSL, HKL and Korjaamo Culture Factory. The program is produced by Korjaamo. A more detailed program is available at www.korjaamo.fi/en/culture-tram
