Kulosaari metro station closed from 7 June

Kulosaari metro station will be closed from 7 June through to late 2010 due to renovation.  During this period metro trains will not stop at Kulosaari.

While the station is closed, a replacement bus route 16X will operate in Kulosaari. The bus will run between Herttoniemi metro station and Kulosaari during metro service hours at 8-15 minute intervals.
Three temporary bus stops will be located on Kulosaaren puistotie.  The bus will also stop at all stops for bus 16 located along its route. In Herttoniemi, bus 16X will leave from platform 11.

During the renovation the metro will mainly operate normally but metro trains will not stop at Kulosaari metro station.  However, on two weekends in June, 12 – 13 June and 19 June – 20 June, the metro will run at 12-minute intervals because temporary structures required as part of the renovation work will be erected in the station on these days.

The renovation will enhance the functionality, comfort and safety of the station.  The ticket hall will be expanded and escalators will be installed. The platform shelter will be extended and platform surfaces will be replaced.
