The cheapest way to get a season ticket is to buy an auto-renewing saver ticket via the HSL app. You get 12 months travel for the price of 10! For example, you’ll pay €1.74 per day for an AB, BC or D ticket.
A season ticket is the best option if you travel regularly. If you choose a one-off purchase, you can buy a season ticket for 30 days or for a longer period. In most cases, a season ticket is more economical than single tickets if you make more than three return journeys (in total six journeys) a week.
Single tickets are ideal for occasional journeys. Single tickets are valid for 80 to 110 minutes and they allow you to transfer between modes of transport within their validity.
A day ticket (1 to 13 days) is a good option if you make several journeys during one day or several days.
You can buy all tickets conveniently using the HSL app.
The city bike season started on 1 April and will last until the end of October. Helsinki and Espoo have a shared city bike service but Vantaa has its own service and you cannot mix bikes from the two services. A pass for the whole season costs EUR 35 in Helsinki and Espoo, in Vantaa the price is EUR 30.
Students and 70+ passengers can buy season tickets at a 45% discount. For children and young people aged 7 to 17 years, for pensioners and people with reduced mobility the discount is 50%. Visually impaired people and veterans of Finnish wars are entitled to a free HSL card.
The Journey Planner gives you the best routes and shows up-to-date timetables for your favorite routes and nearby stops. The HSL app Journey Planner also tells you which ticket you need for your journey. Hop on public transport and enjoy the ride!
