You can use your balance to purchase HSL single tickets, day tickets, multi-journey tickets and season tickets.
You cannot use your balance to pay for an auto-renewing subscription or an auto-renewing saver subscription. As the benefit granted to you is personal, you also cannot use it to pay for family members' tickets.
The quickest way to find out is to try adding your benefit provider (Epassi, Edenred, Smartum or Zevoy) as a payment method in the HSL app.
Open the app.
Select the ticket product you want to purchase.
Open the payment method menu.
Select Add commuter benefit.
Select your benefit provider and follow the instructions.
Alternatively, open your benefit provider's app and check which benefits your balance can be used for.
In some cases, you can pay the remaining amount yourself. Check with your employer or in your employee benefit provider's app whether this is possible.
If it is not possible to use your own money to cover the remaining amount, we recommend choosing a different ticket type. For example, you could buy a less expensive multi-journey ticket instead of a season ticket.
The less balance you have left unused, the better.
