Pohjolan Liikenne won the contract for bus routes 522, 555, 566 and 566B that operate between Espoo and Vantaa, for Helsinki routes 59 and 500 as well as for 19 bus routes in Kirkkonummi and Siuntio.
Reissu Ruoti won the contract for minibus routes 713, 719 and 839/K in Östersundom, Vaarala and Hakunila.
Our requirement was that about half of the tendered services should be operated with electric buses. This goal is exceeded: at the beginning of the contract term, about 63 percent of the services will be operated with electric buses, at the end of the contract term, the figure will be about 70 percent.
Electric buses will run on routes 59, 500, 522 and 555 as well as on bus routes in Kirkkonummi and Siuntio.
All in all, the tendering process covered the services of 82 buses, which accounts for about seven percent of the bus services procured by us. The volume of the tendered services is about six million route kilometers a year, which is just short of seven percent of the total route kilometers of the bus services procured by us.
