Ferry rides to and from the outer islands of Helsinki normally start at the beginning of May. Rides to and from the islands located off the shore of Espoo will begin on 4 June. Water transport to the outer islands consists of scheduled services and tours conducted by private operators.
Use the Journey Planner to plan your trip
You can easily combine transport links found in the Journey Planner with other public transport journeys. The transport services offered by the archipelago ferries support HSL’s goal of providing smooth journeys with various modes of transportation. HSL tickets are valid on the Suomenlinna ferry. To visit the other islands, you’ll need to buy a ticket from the archipelago routes’ ferry operators. Suomenlinna is located in zone A, which means that AB, ABC and ABCD tickets are accepted on the ferry. The ferry routes, schedules and tickets vary according to the traffic contractor. Some operators sell tickets online.
The water transport services and their schedules will undergo changes during the spring and summer periods. More services will be offered during the summer, that is, during the school holiday period. You can see the timetable for your route in the Journey Planner.
