New trunk bus routes 300, 400 and 600 to start operating on 15 August – Changes to bus routes in Central and West Vantaa as well as North East Espoo at the start of the winter timetable season

There will be changes to bus routes especially in Central and West Vantaa and North East Espoo at the start of the winter timetable season, 15 August. New frequently running trunk bus routes 300, 400 and 600 will start. Some current bus routes will be withdrawn or rerouted.

HSL public transport services will switch to winter timetables on Monday 15 August. At the same time, new trunk bus routes 300, 400 and 600 will start operating and there will be changes to bus routes especially in Central and West Vantaa as well as North East Espoo. Some current bus routes will be withdrawn or rerouted.

Some school bus routes will switch to winter timetables or have additional services in the week preceding the start of winter service. Read more in our previous release.

Most U line buses will switch to winter timetables on Thursday 11 August. The timetables of U848 will change on Monday 8 August. Changes in Helsinki

Tram 10 will not run to Pikku Huopalahti from 15 August and tram 3 will temporarily run to Töölö depot instead of Kuusitie. The arrangement is due to the construction of tracks to a new tram depot and improvement works on Korppaanmäentie. The works are expected to continue until August 2023. Trams will resume serving Pasila station and Helsinginkatu from 15 August. However, the diversion routes of trams 1, 2 and 8 will be in place for two weeks longer than originally planned and the trams will run straight along Mannerheimintie until 28 August. The Metro will switch to winter timetables on Monday 15 August. The Metro will run between Tapiola and Itäkeskus every 3 minutes at peak times approximately 6.30am to 9am and 2.15pm to 5.45pm. On the sections of line to Mellunmäki, Vuosaari and Matinkylä, services will run every 6 minutes. For more information, read our service update.

Changes in Vantaa

Three new trunk bus routes will be introduced in West Vantaa: 

  • 300, Elielinaukio – Pähkinärinne – Myyrmäki 
  • 400, Elielinaukio – Martinlaakso – Vantaankoski 
  • 600, Rautatientori – Kartanonkoski – Helsinki Airport 

Trunk bus services run frequently and punctually and thus waiting times are short. You can identify trunk route buses by their orange color. Trunk route buses have open fare collection, which means you can also board the buses using the middle doors. 

As the new trunk bus routes start operating, there will be changes to bus routes in Central and West Vantaa. Feeder services to Myyrmäki and Aviapolis stations will improve. Services will be reduced on some routes with low number of boardings.  

Night bus network will be adjusted to correspond the daytime routes.

Changes in Espoo
