The jury notes in its decision: The best of the best example of how a customer-oriented, digital solution increases both simplicity and cost-effectiveness in commuting. And most important of all, a solution that raises the numbers of travelers, making public transport grow in the “New Normal.”
“Good design is always created in cooperation with customers. We have developed the flexible Mobility Budget based on customer feedback and service design. The employer can use the service to provide the employee with an amount of budget of their choosing, after which the employee can use the amount to purchase the tickets they need”, says Concept Owner Hanna Hämäläinen.
Together with the auto-renewing season ticket, the flexible Mobility Budget is a means for employers to offer the HSL Commuter Benefit to their employees. The Mobility Budget is especially well-suited for those who work at the office a couple of times a week, as well as for employees who work outside the Helsinki region and need to occasionally visit the office.
The Public Transport Design Award was awarded for the first time this year. The jury came from all the Nordic countries participating in the conference. Susanne Thullberg, Director of Communications at SL, served as the chairman of the jury. Eeva Jakobsson represented HSL in the jury.
