Personal HSL cards that have not been used for a long time to be disabled this fall

We are overhauling the payment and use of tickets as well as our backend systems. As part of the overhaul, we will remove personal HSL cards that have not been used since 2022 from our system. The cards will be removed from the system at a later date this fall, after which they can no longer be used. Your card will not be affected if you have topped up your card with season tickets or value or have used it to purchase a value ticket at a card reader at any point in 2023, 2024, or 2025. You can continue to use your personal HSL card as usual.

If you wish to continue using your personal HSL card in the new background system, you must top up your card with value or purchase a season ticket before the transition to the new system.

If you do not know when you last used your HSL card, you can inquire about it on our website. We aim to respond within a few days.

Multi-user HSL cards will also be discontinued when we transition to the new backend system. In the future, all HSL cards will be personal, meaning they can only be used by the owner of the card.

If you currently have a multi-user card, the most convenient way to buy tickets in the future will be through the HSL app. Alternatively, you can continue using the HSL card by obtaining a personal card.

You can check which card you have on our website: hsl.fi/kumpikortti

On the page, you also find instructions on how to proceed if you have a personal HSL card that has not been used for a long time or a multi-user HSL card.
