Public transport over the May Day holiday

On the eve of May Day, a Friday Service will operate. Tram
routes will be diverted in downtown Helsinki from 5pm. The Metro
will run later than normal. On May Day, a Sunday service will
operate with the exception of commuter trains which will operate a
Saturday service. There will be additional public transport
services on both days. 

On May Eve 30 April, a Friday service will operate. In Espoo,
service routes will operate a normal Tuesday service. There will be
additional bus and train services, and early morning services will
run on the night of 30 April / 1 May. The Metro will run two hours
later than usual. 

Additional bus services on May Eve

The Metro feeder
bus routes 85B and 86B will run from the
Herttoniemi Metro station to Laajasalo for two hours longer than
usual. Other feeder services will operate as usual. 
Bus 102 (Kamppi-Otaniemi) will run two hours later
than usual until about 3.30am.

The last Metro departures on May Eve

The following additional
train services will run on the night of 30 April: 

L train from Helsinki to Kirkkonummi at 4.47am and from
Kirkkonummi to Helsinki at 1.50am, 2.50am and 3.50am
N train from Helsinki to Kerava at 3.31am, 4.31am and
5.01am

Downtown Helsinki to be reserved for pedestrians on May
Eve

Some tram routes will be diverted from 5pm onwards due to May
Eve celebrations around the statue of Havis Amanda. 

Tram 1 A will run from Hakaniemi to Eira via the
Central Railway Station, Bulevardi and Fredrikinkatu. The tram will
not serve Kruununhaka, the Market Square and the eastern end of
Tehtaankatu. 

Tram 3B will run from Fredrikinkatu to the
terminus of tram 1A in Eira. The tram will not serve the eastern
end of Tehtaankatu. 

Tram 3T will run from Simonkatu to the terminus of
tram 1A in Eira via Mannerheimintie, Bulevardi and Fredrikinkatu.
The tram will not run via the Central Railway Station, Mikonkatu,
Aleksanterinkatu and the Market Square. 

Also Aleksanterinkatu will be reserved for pedestrians only from
5pm onwards. 

Tram routes 4 and 4T will be diverted to run from
Katajanokka to Mannerheimintie via Kruununhaka and the Central
Railway Station. The trams will not serve Aleksanterinkatu between
the Senate Square and the Student House (Ylioppilastalo).

Trams 7A and 7B will run via the Central Railway
Station. The trams will not serve Aleksanterinkatu and
Kruununhaka. 

A replacement
bus 3X will run every ten minutes between
Eteläranta and Viiskulma from 5pm to 1.40am.

Additional services to Kaivopuisto on May Day

On May Day 1 May, a Sunday service will operate. However,
commuter trains will operate a Saturday service from 6am onwards.
There will be additional bus and tram services. The SS services on
U line buses will not operate.

Additional bus services on May Day

An additional
tram service 3X will run in both directions using
the following route: Central Railway Station–Market
Square–Olympialaituri–Eira–Bulevardi–Central Railway Station from
9.30am to 7.30pm. Tram 10X will run from Kirurgi via Lasipalatsi to
Ooppera from 9am to 7pm.

Bus 18B will also provide additional service to
Kaivopuisto. The bus will run every ten minutes between Kamppi and
Eira. The first departure from Kamppi will be at 8.32am, the last
at 6.32pm, and from Eira at 8.43am and 6.43pm.

Although commuter trains will operate a Saturday service,
the following trains will not run: I train from
Helsinki at 10.46pm, 11.16pm and 11.46pm; I train from Tikkurila at
11.46pm and 0.16am; H train from Riihimäki at 11.14pm. Commuter
trains will resume a normal weekday service after midnight. 

Service point opening hours

On May Eve, HSL's service point at the Central Railway Station
will be open until 5pm. The service point in Itäkeskus will be open
as usual until 5.15pm and the service point in Pasila until 4pm. On
May Day, HSL’s service points will be closed. 

HSL’s customer service line on 09 4766 4000 will be open on
May Eve as usual until 7pm, on May Day the line is open from 9am to
5pm.
