The Sonisphere Festival held at the Hietaniemi beach on Wednesday 28 May is expected to attract a large audience.
There will be additional tram services on Wednesday evening. Tram 2X will run from 11.10pm to 01.00am from Opera, along Runeberginkatu to Kamppi and along Aleksanterinkatu to the Market Square (route of tram 2). The tram will run every 6-7 minutes.
Bus 24 will run via Mechelininkatu in both directions from 26 to 29 May. The Taivallahti (1282), Hietakannaksentie (1258 and 1259), Krematorio (1269 and 1270). Arkadiankatu (1267 and 1268) and Väinämöisenkatu (1265 and 1266) bus stops will not be served.
There will be temporary bus stops on Mechelinikatu by Mechelininkatu 9 in the direction of Seurasaari and by Mechelinkatu 4 in the direction of Merikatu.
Wednesday is the eve of Ascesion Day and the Metro will operate a Friday service, i.e. about two hours later than on a normal weekday.
