Tram routes 2, 3, 4, 4T, 7A and 7AB will be diverted on Saturday 18 June approximately from 2.45pm to 6pm due to Helsinki Samba Carnaval.
From the direction of Töölö, tram 2 will run the Eira loop counterclockwise along Bulevardi, Laivurinkatu and Tehtaankatu. From the Olympia Terminal, the tram will run to Simonkatu via Kruununhaka and not serve Aleksanterinkatu and Mikonkatu. The tram will not serve the following stops: ”Rautatieasema” (0301), ”Mikonkatu” (0424 and 0425), ”Aleksanterinkatu”, (0403 and 0404), ”Senaatintori” (0405 and 0406), ”Kauppatori” (0430), ”Eteläranta” (0432) and ”Olympialaituri” (0434).
Tram 3 will run from the Olympia Terminal to Eläintarha via the Market Square and Kruununhaka, i.e. the tram will not run the Eira loop clockwise. The tram will not serve the following stops: ”Olympialaituri” (0434), Kaivopuisto (0436), ”Neitsytpolku” (0438), ”Kapteeninkatu” (0440), ”Eiran sairaala” (0442), ”Viiskulma”, (0815), ”Iso Roobertinkatu” (0813), ”Fredrikinkatu” (0803), ”Erottaja” (0801), ”Ylioppilastalo” (0701), ”Rautatieasema” (0301), ”Kaisaniemenkatu”, (0303) and ”Kaisaniemenpuisto” (0305).
Trams 4 and 4T will run via the Central Railway Station and Kruununhaka and not serve Aleksanterinkatu between Mannerheimintie and Snellmaninkatu. The trams will not serve the following stops:”Ylioppilastalo” (0401 and 0402), ”Aleksanterinkatu” (0403 and 0404), ”Senaatintori” (0405 and 0406).
Trams 7A and 7B will run via the Central Railway Station and not serve Kruununhaka.
The following stops will not be served: ”Ylioppilastalo” (0401 and 0402), ”Aleksanterinkatu” (0403 and 0404), ”Senaatintori” (0405 and 0406), ”Hallituskatu” (0450 and 045), ”Kansallisarkisto” (0452 and 0453) and ”Snellmaninkatu” (0454 and 0455).
The Helsinki Samba Carnaval parade will leave from the Senate Square at 3pm and proceed along Unioninkatu and Pohjoisesplanadi to Aleksanterinkatu. The event is expected to attract tens of thousands of spectators.
