The traditional Lucia Parade will take place in the center of Helsinki on Wednesday 13 December about 6pm-6.45pm. The parade will start from the Senate Square and proceed along Snellmaninkatu, Aleksanterinkatu, Mannerheimintie and Pohjoisesplanadi back to the Senate Square. The parade will cause diversions to tram routes.
Tram diversion routes about 5.45pm to 7pm:
Trams 2 and 3 will run along Mannerheimintie, Bulevardi, Fredrikinkatu and Tehtaankatu to the terminus of tram 1 on Pursimiehenkatu. Bus 3X will replace tram services between Viiskulma and Eteläranta. The bus will serve the tram stops along the route.
- Tram 2 will not serve the following stops: “Ylioppilastalo” (0401 and 0402), “Aleksanterinkatu” (0403 and 0404), “Senaatintori” (0405 and 0406), “Kauppatori” (0430 and 0431), “Eteläranta (0432 and 0433) and “Olympiaterminaali” (0434 and 0435).
- Tram 3 will not serve the following stops: “Olympiaterminaali” (0434 and 0435), “Kaivopuisto” (0436 and 0437), “Neitsytpolku” (0438 and 0439), “Kapteeninkatu” (0440 and 0441) and “Eiran sairaala” (0442 and 0443).
- Route of replacement bus 3X Viiskulma – Laivurinkatu – Tehtaankatu – Laivasillankatu – Eteläranta. The bus will leave from the “Viiskulma” bus stop (1174) in Viiskulma and in Eteläranta from the “Eteläranta”t tram stop (0433).
Tram 4 will run between Munkkiniemi and Kolmikulma.
- The tram will not serve the following stops: “Ylioppilastalo” (0401 and 0402), “Aleksanterinkatu” (0403 and 0404), “Senaatintori” (0405 and 0406), “Ritarihuone” (0407 and 0408), “Tove Janssonin puisto” (0409 and 0410), “Kauppiaankatu” (0411 and 0412), “Vyökatu” (0413 and 0414), “Puolipäivänkatu” (0415 and 0416) and “Merisotilaantori” (0417 and 0421).
- Bus 4X will replace tram services between Lasipalatsi and Katajanokka. The bus will leave from the “Postitalo” bus stop (2038) and run along Postikatu, Kaivokatu, Kaisaniemenkatu, Liisankatu, Pohjoisranta, Kanavakatu, Satamakatu , Kruunuvuorenkatu and Linnankatu to Merikasarminkatu.
Tram 7 will run directly along Kaisaniemenkatu.
- The tram will not serve the following stops: “Snellmaninkatu” (0454 and 0455), “Kansallisarkisto” (0452 and 0453), “Hallituskatu” (0450 and 0451), “Senaatintori” (0405 and 0406), “Aleksanterinkatu” (0403 and 0404) and “Mikonkatu” (0424 and 0425).
In addition, there may be delays to bus route 24.
