On New Year’s night, Mannerhemintie will be closed to traffic between Arkadiankatu and Helsinginkatu from 10pm to 1.30am due to New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Kansalaistori Square. Buses usually departing from Elielinaukio will depart from the Mäntymäki Field close to the Töölö Sports Hall, which can be accessed by trams 1, 2, 4 and 10 from the Lasipalatsi stop. Buses to Kamppi will run via Runeberginkatu instead of Mannerheimintie. Trams 4 and 10 will also be diverted between Lasilapatsi and the Opera to run via Arkadiankatu and Runeberginkatu. A Friday service will operate.

Changes to bus services to/from Elielinaukio on New Year’s night 10pm to 1.30am
Buses 40, 43, 231N, 235, 235N, 321, 321N, 322, 332, 345, 345N, 411, 415, 415N, 421, 431, 431N, 436 and 436N will run to/from the Mäntymäki Field. The arrival and departure stops for the buses will be on the Helsinginkatu side of the Mäntymäki Field.
The Mäntymäki Field can be accessed from Elielinaukio by trams 2, 4 and 10 from the Lasipalatsi stop, or by foot. Passengers going to the city center from the Mäntymäki Field can take a tram from the “Ooppera” tram stops on Helsinginkatu and Mannerheimintie. The destination signs on buses from Mäntymäki Field towards the city center will read “Töölön kisahalli” instead of “Elielinaukio”.
The buses will depart from the Mäntymäki Field about five minutes after the departure times from Elielinaukio. You can view the services and routes in the Journey Planner.

- Hesperian puisto (H1908, H1909, H1911)
- Töölön kisahalli (H1914)
Diversion route of trams 4 and 10 on New Year’s night 10pm to 1.30am
Trams 4 and 10 will be diverted between Lasilapatsi and the Opera to run via Arkadiankatu and Runeberginkatu. The trams will take the same route as tram 2. The trams will serve all stops along the diversion route. You can view the services, routes and stops in the Journey Planner.

Changes to buses serving Kamppi on New Year’s night 10pm to 1.30am
Buses to Kamppi usually running along Mannerheimintie will run via Runeberginkatu (Topeliuksenkatu and Haartmaninkatu) to their normal routes. Mannerheimintie will not be served to the south from Töölön tulli. This affects buses 63, 213N, 280, 455, 465 and 848. The stops served along the diversion route are shown on the map below.
