VR’s train drivers’ protest will halt commuter train services on Friday. The drivers will not come to work on Friday. Services are expected to resume on Saturday morning 22 May around 5am.
HSL will not provide replacement services. You can search for alternative routes using the Journey Planner; untick the train option in the planner’s settings.
You may get refund on your season ticket if you were unable to use alternative modes of transport on your regular public transport journeys. Link to the refund application form
Additional services will be provided on some routes, where possible. Any additional services will be updated on this page as soon as information about them is available.

Because there is a risk that buses become overcrowded, we ask people to avoid using public transport if possible. In this way we can ensure as safe and smooth journeys for those who need to travel. We want to ensure the health security of passengers on public transport in the exceptional circumstances.

How to exclude a mode of transport from the search results in the browser version of the Journey Planner
- Make a search and open the Settings menu in the route search.
- A new Settings field will open where you can exclude a mode of transport from the search results by sliding the button next to the mode of transport. Switch off only those modes of transport you want to exclude from the search.
- Close the menu. The new settings will be saved automatically. The Journey Planner will now show you alternative transport links for your route.
