Bus route 51 to be withdrawn, new bus route 53 to start running and bus route 59 to be extended to Malminkartano from 16 August

There will be many changes to bus routes in West Helsinki as well as changes to crosstown bus routes at the start of the autumn timetable season, 16 August. Bus route 51 will be withdrawn from 16 August. A new bus route, 53, will partly replace route 51. The terminus of bus route 59 will move from Pajamäki to Malminkartano.

A new weekday bus route, 53 (Arabia – Oulunkylä – Metsälä – Pohjois-Haaga – Pitäjänmäki – Uusmäki), will provide alternative service from Metsälä to Konala.The new route 53 in the Journey Planner

In Konala and Malminkartano, rerouted bus 59 will replace bus route 51. The terminus of bus route 59 will move from Pajamäki to Malminkartano. The bus will start running more frequently. The bus will also run on Sundays.

Journeys from Pohjois-Haaga to Kallio will in the future require transfers. For example, the new trunk bus route 40 will link with tram 3 at Töölöntulli. As tram route 3 is still diverted, changing from trunk bus 40 to tram 3 will be possible from 30 August. Use the Journey Planner to find new links.

Trunk bus route 550 will resume its normal route via Eliel Saarisen tie in Haaga in winter 2021.
