There will be changes and cancellations to coastal line trains from 4 to 19 August due to track work. Some trains will be fully or partly cancelled and L trains will be replaced by U or X trains, which will exceptionally also stop at Ilmala station. In addition, from 10 August 11.40pm to 11 August 4.40am, L trains will only run between Helsinki and Kera. Replacement bus 211X will run between Leppävaara and Kirkkonummi.
On the night of Wednesday 18 August, there will also be changes to I train services.
The track works include, for example repair of switches at Kauniainen station and strengthening of the coastal line tracks.
Service changes on 4–19 August in detail
Wednesday evening and night 4 August
- U trains from Helsinki at 5.42pm, 6.42pm, 7.42pm, 8.42pm and 9.42pm will terminate at Kauklahti station. U trains from Kirkkonummi at 6.37pm, 7.37pm, 8.37pm, 9.37pm and the L train from Kirkkonummi at 10.37pm will be cancelled between Kirkkonummi and Kauklahti, i.e. the trains will depart from Kauklahti.
Other U trains running every 60 minutes and X trains provide alternative links to Kirkkonummi. - The 6.12pm U train from Helsinki will wait four minutes at Kauklahti station for a train heading in the opposite direction to pass.
- The 11.07pm and 11.37pm L trains from Kirkkonummi will wait eight minutes at Tolsa station for trains heading in the opposite direction to pass.
- The 0.37am L train from Kirkkonummi will wait eight minutes at Tolsa station for a train heading in the opposite direction to pass.
Night of Tue 10 August/Wed 11 August
L trains from Helsinki at 11.33pm, 0.03am and 1.03am will terminate at Kera station. L trains from Kirkkoummi at 11.37pm, 0.37am and 3.58am will be cancelled between Kirkkonummi and Kera, i.e. the trains will depart from Kera.
- Replacement bus 211X will run between Leppävaara and Kirkkonummi. The bus will depart from Leppävaara at 11.54pm, 0.24am and 1.24am and from Kirkkonummi at 11.45pm and 3.05am.

The bus will depart from bus bay 15 at Leppävaara station and run via bay 33 on Turuntie. Along the route, the bus will serve the stops for replacement buses at train stations. NB! The bus will not run via Kera station. Instead, the bus will serve the “Kutojatie” stops E1310 and E1311 in Nihtisilta. From Kirkkonummi to Leppävaara, the bus will depart from bay 12 at the travel center.
Sunday evening 15 August
- E trains from Helsinki between 6.27pm and 9.27pm and from Kauklahti between 7.05pm and 10.05pm are cancelled.
U trains provide alternative links between Helsinki and Kauklahti. Between Helsinki and Leppävaara, passengers can also use A trains, which will run as usual.
Monday morning and evening 16 August
- The 5.03am L train from Helsinki will be replaced by an X train and the 5.33am L train from Helsinki will be replaced by a U train. These trains will exceptionally stop also at Ilmala station. Unlike L trains, the trains will not stop at Mäkkylä, Pitäjänmäki and Valimo stations. In addition, the trains will use different platforms than usual at Huopalahti and Leppävaara stations.
Passengers travelling to/from the intermediate stations should change to/from a train going in the opposite direction at Huopalahti or Leppävaara station. - E trains from Helsinki between 8.27pm and 9.27pm and from Kauklahti between 9.05pm and 10.05pm are cancelled.
Night of Mon 16 August/Tue 17 August
- L trains from Helsinki between 10.33pm and 1.03am and from Kirkkonummi between 10.27pm and 0.37am as well as between 3.58am and 4.38am will be replaced by U trains. The 11.03pm L train from Helsinki will be replaced by an X train. These trains will exceptionally stop at Ilmala station, but they will not stop at Valimo, Pitäjänmäki and Mäkkylä stations. In addition, the trains will use different platforms than usual at Huopalahti and Leppävaara stations.
There are buses serving the intermediate stations. For example, buses 200, 231N and 235N from Elielinaukio in Helsinki.

- I trains from Helsinki at 11.05pm and 11.35pm will wait 9 minutes at Helsinki Airport, i.e. the trains will depart from the airport to Myyrmäki at 11.43pm and 0.13am.
