The women’s sporting event Naisten Kymppi that takes place on Saturday afternoon 28 August will bring about diversion routes in Töölö for buses 8X and 502 already on Friday evening 27 August. Bus route 24 will also be diverted on Saturday afternoon 28 August. Delays are also possible as the runners make their way through the city.

Diversion routes on Friday 27 August as of 6pm
Bus route 8X
Replacement bus 8X will run on Friday as of 6pm along diversion route Vauhtitie – Nordenskiöldinkatu – Topeliuksenkatu – Eino Leinon katu – Ooppera (Mäntymäki). When the bus leaves from Mäntymäki in the direction of Arabia, it will run via Mannerheimintie to Nordenskiöldinkatu and from there to Vauhtitie.
The bus will serve all the stops along the route, but it will take considerably longer for the bus to reach Ooppera. Delays are also likely to take place.
Bus 8X will not serve any stops along the diversion route.
Bus route 502
Bus 502 will run in both directions via Helsinginkatu, Runeberginkatu and Töölönkatu on Friday as of 6pm.
The bus will not serve the “Töölön kisahalli” stop (H0264/H2065) on Toivonkatu or the “Ratikkamuseo” stop (H1329) on Eino Leinon katu in the direction of Leppävaara.
Along its diversion route, bus 502 will serve the “Ooppera” (H2185/H2062) stops on Helsinginkatu.
Diversion routes on Saturday 28 August
Bus route 8X
Replacement bus 8X will run along the same long diversion on Saturday until 6pm as on Friday: Vauhtitie – Nordenskiöldinkatu – Topeliuksenkatu – Eino Leinon katu – Ooppera (Mäntymäki). When the bus leaves from Mäntymäki in the direction of Arabia, it will run via Mannerheimintie to Nordenskiöldinkatu and from there to Vauhtitie.
The bus will serve all the stops along the route, but it will take considerably longer for the bus to reach Ooppera. Delays are also likely to take place.
Bus 8X will not serve any stops along the diversion route.
Bus route 24
Bus 24 will not run to Hietaniemi or Seurasaari as the event progresses.
Services from Kamppi at 1.03pm, 1.33pm and 2.03pm will run directly along Mechelininkatu instead of Hietaniemi. Instead of Seurasaarentie, the bus will run along Paciuksenkatu to Munkkiniemen puistotie. The terminus for the route is the “Laajalahden aukio” stop (H1401).
Services from Seurasaari at 12.29pm and 12.59pm will not run via Hietaniemi (the bus will run along Mechelininkatu and Hietaniemenkatu instead of Pohjoinen Rautatienkatu). The following services at 1.29pm and 1.59pm will not run from Seurasaari but from Munkkiniemen puistotie, and they will not run via Hietaniemi either. Service at 2.29pm will leave from Munkkiniemen puistotie (not from Seurasaari) but should be able to continue to Hietaniemi.
Other exceptions are possible as the runners make their way through the city.
The bus will serve all the stops along the diversion route.
Bus route 502
On Saturday the bus will run (apart from the four services below) along the same diversion route as on Friday until 6pm: in both directions via Helsinginkatu, Runeberginkatu and Töölönkatu.
The bus will not serve the “Töölön kisahalli” stop (H0264/H2065) on Toivonkatu or the “Ratikkamuseo” stop (H1329) on Eino Leinon katu in the direction of Leppävaara.
Along its diversion route, bus 502 will serve the “Ooppera” (H2185/H2062) stops on Helsinginkatu.
However, services from Leppävaara on Saturday at 12.28pm and 12.48pm will run along the route Tukholmankatu – Reijolankatu – Nordenskiöldinkatu – Vauhtitie.
Similarly, services from Kallio at 12.46pm and 1.06pm will run along the route Vauhtitie – Nordenskiöldinkatu – Reijolankatu – Tukholmankatu.
These four services will not use the following stops: “Töölön kisahalli” (H2064/H2065), “Ratikkamuseo” (H1328/H1329), “Linnankoskenkatu” (H1317), “Kirjailijan puisto” (H1318), “Naistenklinikka” (H1320/H1321) and “Haartmaninkatu” (H1322/H1323).
The bus will serve all the stops along the diversion route.
Possible exceptions and delays on other bus routes
Momentary delays are likely also on other bus routes as the runners make their way through the city. This applies especially to tram 8 and buses leaving from Elielinaukio.
