Z trains will be replaced by bus 979X between Kerava and Lahti in both directions from late evening on Saturday 29 January to the early morning of Sunday 30 January. In addition, one Z train from Helsinki will arrive at Kerava behind schedule.
Bus 979X will run via Haarajoki and other intermediate stations.
The arrangement is due to track maintenance.
Changes to services
From the direction of Helsinki
- Z trains from Helsinki at 11.10pm, 0.10am and 1.10am will terminate at Kerava station. The Z trains from Helsinki at 0.10 will arrive at Kerava 5 minutes behind schedule at 0.37am.
- Replacement bus 979X will depart from Kerava station at 11.37pm, 0.42am and 1.37am.
From the direction of Lahti
- The 11.14pm and 0.24am (from Haarajoki at 11.48pm and 0.58am) Z trains are cancelled between Lahti and Kerava. These trains will depart from Kerava to Helsinki as usual at 11.56pm and 1.06am.
- Bus 979X will run from Lahti to Kerava via the intermediate stations. The buses will depart from Lahti to Kerava at 11.29pm and 0.29am (from Haarajoki at 0.41am and 1.41am). The bus links with the Z train departing from Kerava to Helsinki at 1.06am as well as with the 2.04am K train.
Replacement buses
All replacement buses will be high floor.
You can use the same tickets as for the trains. If you have a valid ticket, you can board the replacement bus also using the middle doors and you do not need to show your ticket to the driver.
NB! As there are no HSL card readers on the replacement buses, you cannot buy value tickets or activate advance purchase HSL single or day tickets loaded on cardboard cards on the buses.
We recommend that you buy a single ticket using the HSL app. Alternatively, you can buy a ticket e.g. from the ticket machine at Kerava station before boarding the bus.

- Kerava: Kerava station, bay 11 (Ke0408) in the direction of Lahti and Haarajoki.
- Haarajoki: Haarajoki station (Jä2150) in both directions.
