Protest affects tram services in Helsinki city center on Friday 5 May from 4pm
A protest taking place in the center of Helsinki on Friday 6 May affects traffic in Helsinki city center from 4pm. Trams are unable to run past Lasipalatsi between 4pm and 9pm.
Mannerheimintie will be closed to trams at Lasipalatsi and trams will be diverted via Hakaniemi and Kallio. Trams cannot be diverted via Runeberginkatu because it is closed due to street works.
Because the traffic situation may change fast, we advise passengers to check service updates at HSL.fi or in the Journey Planner.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Effects on tram services
The protest will affect tram routes 1, 2, 4, 8 and 10. Trams 1 and 8 run from Urheilutalo via Kaarlenkatu to the Central Railway Station, i.e. the section of route between Urheilutalo and the Opera is not served. If going in the direction of Töölö, take bus 502 from Hakaniemi.
Trams 4 and 10 will take the route of tram 3 from Töölön tulli to Hakaniemi, i.e. there will be no service along Mannerheimintie from Töölön tulli towards the city center. Passengers using trams running along Mannerheimintie are advised to change to bus at Töölön tulli or at the Opera.
Effects on bus services
The protest is not expected to affect bus services. However, there may be delays to buses to Elielinaukio.
