Neighborhood routes 618 and 625 will be merged into a new route 625 from 20 June. The bus will run from Tikkurila via Tarhurinpuisto and Koivukylä to Rekolanmäki.
The neighborhood route will no longer serve the section of route between the laboratory in Tikkurila and Unikkotie. In addition, Simonkylä and Leinelä will no longer be served.
The new route, 625, will improve transport links in Tarhurinpuisto, where walking distances to the closest stops of other bus routes and to Hiekkaharju railway station are long. The new route will run Monday to Friday between about 6am and 6pm. At peak times, the bus will run every 30 minutes, during the daytime every 60 minutes.
The change is made because passengers numbers on route 618 have been low. Nearly all of the stops served by route 618 are served by other buses which provide frequent service to Tikkurila, Koivukylä and the Peijas Hospital.
The change will take effect on Monday 20 June.
