Extended Metro service and extra carriages on P, K and L trains on the nights of 12 August and 13 August due to Flow Festival

The Metro will operate later than normally and some K, L and P trains will have extra carriages on the nights of Friday 12 August and Saturday 13 August due to the Flow Festival taking place in Suvilahti. You can see the additional services also in the Journey Planner.

Suvilahti is easily accessible by public transport from many directions.

Extended Metro service

The Metro will run about two hours later into the night than usual on Friday 12 August and Saturday 13 August.

Services will run every 15 minutes on both Metro lines, M1 and M2, until the end of service, i.e. between Matinkylä and Itäkeskus, the Metro will run every 7.5 minutes. Services from/to Mellunmäki will run to/from Matinkylä. However, the last Metro service from Mellunmäki (at 0.57am) will terminate at Tapiola.

Last Metro services

The last services will depart from Mellunmäki at 0.57am, from Vuosaari at 1.05am and from Matinkylä at 1.34am.

The last service from the Central Railway Station to Mellunmäki will depart at 1.46am, the last service to Vuosaari at 1.54am. The last service from the Central Railway Station to Matinkylä will be at 1.26am. The last service to Mellunmäki from Kalasatama station will depart at 1.52am, to Vuosaari at 2am. The last service to Matinkylä will depart from Kalasatama at 1.19am.

The last services will arrive at Mellunmäki at 2.07am, at Vuosaari at 2.15am and at Matinkylä at 1.46am.

Extra carriages on commuter trains

We will add extra carriages to some K, L and P trains that depart from Helsinki after midnight. Otherwise the trains will run as usual. There will also be extra carriages on some K trains from Kerava.

Suvilahti is easily accessible by public transport

The easiest way to get to Suvilahti is to take the Metro to Sörnäinen or Kalasatama. The festival venue located along Sörnäisten rantatie is about 700 meters walk from the Sörnäinen Metro Station via Käenkuja or Vilhonvuorenkatu. At night after the festival closes, you can also use the night buses that run along Sörnäisten rantatie to East Helsinki.

NB! Bus 738 which normally runs to Koksikatu is diverted between 1 August and 19 August due to the festival. The bus runs to Panimokatu and serves bays 5 and 6 at Kalasatama Metro Station. Read more in our service update.
