Track work related to the Espoo Rail Line project by the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency will cause disruptions to HSL train services from Leppävaara towards Kauklahti, Kirkkonummi and Siuntio in spring, summer and autumn this year. In May, services will be disrupted on Sundays 4 May, 18 May and 25 May, and on Ascension Day, Thursday 29 May. In the summer, commuter train services will be disrupted for five weeks from 23 June. Additionally, there will be shorter service disruptions of one or two days in August and September.
During the disruptions, train services from Leppävaara in the direction of Kauklahti, Kirkkonummi and Siuntio will be replaced by buses. Buses 211E and 211U will replace E, U, L and Y trains between Leppävaara and Kauklahti. The buses will stop at all intermediate stations or near the stations. Bus 249Y will run from Leppävaara along Turunväylä via Tuomarila and Espoo station to Kirkkonummi. Bus 213X will provide a fast connection along Turunväylä between Helsinki, Koivuhovi, Tuomarila and Espoon keskus. The replacement buses have an open fare collection system. VR’s tickets are also accepted on the buses.

The Espoo Rail Line project of the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency entails the construction of two new tracks between Leppävaara and Kauklahti. Once completed, the rail link will improve the punctuality of commuter train services in Kirkkonummi and Espoo as well as the punctuality of long-distance train services in the direction of Turku. In addition, improvements will be made to the Kilo, Kera, Kaunainen, Koivuhovi, Tuomarila and Kauklahti train stations. The project started in spring 2021 and is scheduled to be completed in 2029.
