There will again be changes to access routes at Helsinki Central Railway Station in July as the station development project moves into its next phase.
The changes are expected to take effect in the first few days of July, with area demarcation starting on Tuesday, 1 July.
There may be loud noise during the daytime due to renovation of commercial spaces. In particular, during the first two weeks of July, significant noise is anticipated in the station hall, platform areas, and commercial spaces, as the old commercial spaces located at the end of the central tracks and the Rautakukka premises inside the station are being demolished.

Changes to access routes in detail
- The middle doors from platforms 4 to 11 leading to the station hall will be closed.
- This means that only the doors at the ends of platforms 4 and 5 will be in use until the end of September.
- In October, the doors at the ends of platforms 10 and 11 will be open during the evenings and on weekends.
- The accessible entrance to the station (through the automatic doors connecting Elielinaukio and platform 11) will be closed on weekdays during the daytime.
- At all other times, the entrance will be available for passengers.
- When the entrance is open, you can also use it to move between the station hall and the western wing of the building, which includes shops, luggage storage, and restrooms. On weekdays during the daytime, you can only access the western wing from the station hall by going around the construction area outside.
- When the accessible entrance on the Elielinaukio side is closed, passengers with reduced mobility can only access the train platforms by going around the station building from the north, either from the Elielinaukio side or the Kaisaniemenpuisto side.
- If you can use a regular door with a high threshold, you can also use other entrances at the station.
- Additionally, there are electrically operated doors with push buttons and thresholds at the entrances from the train platforms to the station hall and the western wing. Other doors are manual.
- Access to the station from Railway Square and the Station Tunnel is only via stairs.
