What’s behind the changes?
The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency will relocate the interlocking device in Järvenpää and build additional tracks between Kerava and Järvenpää.
The work will be carried out in two phases:
- From 16 June to 27 July: Certain tracks will be closed in Järvenpää.
- From 28 July to 10 August: Only one track will be in use between Kerava and Järvenpää.
The work is part of the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency's Helsinki–Riihimäki rail project, which aims to increase the capacity and improve the punctuality of rail traffic on the main line. At the end of the project, the section between Helsinki and Riihimäki will have four tracks.
