Winter timetable booklets available in August

HSL will switch to winter timetables
13 of August. The winter timetable booklets will
be available the first week in August.

The winter timetable booklet for Helsinki will not be delivered
to households, but it can be picked up at HSL’s services points or
libraries in Helsinki. The booklets will also be available at
temporary distribution points in Itäkeskus and at the Central
Railway Station on Thursday 2 of August and Friday 3 of August from
7am to 6pm and from 7am to 5pm.

HSL’s winter timetable booklets are delivered to households in
Espoo, Kauniainen, Vantaa and Kirkkonummi during the week beginning
Monday 30 of July. If you haven’t received the booklet by 4 of
August, please call Itella service number 0200 7300 by 17 of
August.

Also the booklets are available at HSL’s service points, VR’s
booking offices and R-kiosks in the region from 6 August onwards.
Also route maps are available at service points.

In Kerava, a separate leaflet with bus and commuter train
timetables and route maps is available at the HSL service point in
the library, at the town hall of Kerava and the R-kiosks from 6
August onwards.

In Sipoo a booklet including all timetables for the whole year
was delivered to households last spring. In addition the booklet
can be picked up at the libraries in Sipoo (Nikkilä and
Söderkulla).

Up-to-date information online

At present, HSL distributes over one million timetable booklets
every year. In addition, the booklets are quickly out of date, and
the information provided in them is not always reliable as it is
not possible to make amendments to them if there are changes to the
timetables during the timetable season.

Today, the web is the place to get the most up-to-date
information, and an increasing number of passengers search for
information online. Online services are popular because they are
convenient, reliable and always up-to-date. For those passengers,
who do not yet use online services, timetable information is
available via printed timetables and electronic displays at stops,
as well as via timetable leaflets available on board and at service
points.

HSL will decide on the future of timetable booklet delivery on
the basis of the experiments carried out this year. ”The experiment
during this summer has resulted in a lot of positive feedback. From
an ecological point of view, delivering the booklet to all
households is not the best way to provide timetable information. In
the future it will probably be possible to order the booklet to
one´s home address by paying a fee”, says Director of
Communications Mari Flink.
