The City of Riihimäki has ended its ticketing cooperation agreement with HSL. The agreement will terminate on 1 April 2016. The city will no longer subsidize its residents’ commutes in the Helsinki metropolitan area.
HSL has agreements with several surrounding municipalities that allow the residents of the surrounding municipalities to purchase HSL area tickets at the same price as permanent residents of the HSL area.
Residents of Riihimäki can load season tickets on HSL’s personal Travel Cards at the same price as residents of the HSL area until 31 March 2016. The following tickets are available:
internal tickets for Helsinki, Espoo-Kauniainen and Vantaa, and

From 1 April, residents of Riihimäki can load only general season tickets available for all travel zones. The prices of these tickets are not subsidized by the City of Riihimäki. There is no need to change the Travel Card.
The prices of general season tickets are available on the hsl.fi price calculator.
