West Metro feeder bus services off to a good start

Passengers are already well familiar with the new routes. HSL staff is assisting passengers at stations during the first days of the new bus system.

The West Metro feeder bus services have got off to a good start. New bus routes were rolled out in South Espoo and Lauttasaari early on Wednesday morning. In addition, there were changes to bus routes in Kauniainen, Kirkkonummi, Kuusisaari and Lehtisaari.

“Bus drivers have clearly adopted the use of the new terminals. Bus services are running normally,” says Ville Uusi-Rauva, a head of group at HSL.

“On Wednesday morning, we had plenty of staff at the bus terminals assisting passengers and drivers as well as experts adjusting all the electric displays. Some minor adjustments have been made to traffic signals at the Matinkylä terminal. Over the next few days, we well be refining some of the instructions for drivers,” says Uusi-Rauva.

The Metro services have been running without problems. One Metro train was out of service in the morning but it was back service at about 7am. After that, the Metro services have been running normally.
