Lifts at the Helsinki Central Railway Station to remain closed until further notice

Lifts to the platform level at the Central Railway Station will remain closed until further notice. The lifts are likely to remain closed for a long time due to the water damage that occurred in August.

The closest accessible routes from the metro to the Central Railway Station and from the street level to the metro are via the Helsinki University or Kamppi Metro Stations. Cyclists and passengers traveling with prams or wheelchairs or carrying large luggage should use these stations.

Accessible routes from the Central Railway Station to the metro

Eastbound journeys: Tram 3, 6, 6T, 7 or 9 from Kaivokatu (i.e. stop in front of the station) to the Helsinki University or Hakaniemi Metro Stations.

Westbound journeys (i.e. in the direction of Espoo): Tram 7 or 9 from Kaivokatu (i.e. stop in front of the station) to tram stops on Simonkatu or Kampintori, from where you can continue to the Kamppi Metro Station.

Accessible routes from the metro to Kaivokatu and the Central Railway Station

From the east, metro to the Helsinki University Metro Station, take exit A to the tram stops and tram 3, 6, 6T or 9 to Kaivokatu (stop in front of the Central Railway Station). Alternatively, you can take exit G at the Helsinki University Metro Station and pass through the Railway Square.

From the west, metro to the Kamppi Metro Station, take exit A, B or C to the Kampintori stop and 7 or 9 to Kaivokatu (stop in front of the Central Railway Station).
