Changes to HSL public transport from 15 June

HSL public transport services will switch to normal summer timetables from 15 June. As most of our transport services have been operating a reduced timetable in the spring due to the coronavirus epidemic, changes e.g. to bus timetables from 15 June are minor. As usual, street and track works will be taking place in the region over the summer.

Changes to R and Z train services and reduced K train service 15 June-9 August

R and Z trains will operate a reduced service outside peak times due to bridge work in Pukinmäki. At peak times, there will be two R trains per hour, but off peak and on weekends R trains will run every 60 minutes. There will also be changes to Z train services. D trains will not operate during the summer months.

K trains will operate a reduced service running every 20 minutes Monday to Friday 6am to 7pm, but the trains will have extra carriages throughout the day Monday to Friday.

The Metro will switch to summer timetable

At peak times, the Metro will run between Itäkeskus and Tapiola every 3.75 minutes. Services to Matinkylä as well as to Mellunmäki and Vuosaari will run every 7.5 minutes.

Most buses will continue to operate to their current timetables

Bus services in the HSL area have been operating a reduced summer timetable since 20 April. Most buses will continue to operate to their current timetables. A Sunday service is running on Saturdays and there is no extended night service on Friday and Saturday nights.

However, the timetables for Tuusula bus routes 642, 665, 665A and 665K will change on 15 June. In addition, there will be minor changes for routes 641 and 542.

Suomenlinna ferry will switch to summer timetables on 13 June

The Suomenlinna ferry will operate a more frequent summer service from Saturday 13 June due to increased demand. A more frequent weekday service has been operating since 8 June. The new timetables will be available in the Journey Planner by 11 June.

Passenger numbers on the ferry are limited to ensure physical distancing onboard the ferry.

Tram timetables will change

All tram timetables will changen on 15 June but headways will mainly remain unchanged. Tram 5 is not running until further notice.

Tram routes 2, 7 and 9 diverted

Tram 2 will be diverted from Monday 15 June. There will be no tram service between Pasila station and Eläintarha. Replacement bus 2X will run between Lasipalatsi and Pasila. In addition, tram routes 7 and 9 will be diverted from 29 June to 12 July due to street work in Itä-Pasila. The route of replacement bus 2X will change in Itä-Pasila. 

The terminus of tram 7 will move to Ratapihantie, next to Pasila station on 15 June. From 12 July, tram 2 will run a loop via Itä-Pasila back to Pasilansilta in front of the station and tram 7 will terminate on Ratapihantie.

Service changes due to street and track work over the summer

In addition to the tram diversions in Pasila, there will be other changes and diversions to HSL public transport services in summer 2020 due to street and track works. For example, there will be changes to commuter train services due to improvement works on the coastal line over the midsummer weekend.
