Pricing models under review

As part of the Ticket Account Project, we are also examining different ticket pricing models. We are considering whether the current zone model is still the best way to determine fares or should the model be further developed or should we transition to a completely new pricing model.

Pricing based on zones

In the current zone model, the region is divided into zones A, B, C and D with a diameter of about 10 kilometers. You buy a ticket for the zones you travel in. Zone boundaries define price levels.

Flat fare

In a flat fare system, the whole HSL area would form one zone. There would be single, day and season tickets and one ticket would cover the whole area.
