One card for all journeys
HSL card is the easiest and cheapest way to travel around the region. The card is valid on public transport in Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen, Vantaa, Kerava, Sipoo, Kirkkonummi, Siuntio and Tuusula, allowing you to travel on buses, commuter trains, the metro, trams and Suomenlinna ferry.
There are personal and multi-user cards, and the choice of card depends on its purpose of use. A card charge of 5 euros is charged for a new card.
A personal HSL card can only be used by the owner of the card and it cannot be given to another person for use. The customer group stored on the card and the home municipality together determine what kind of season and value tickets can be bought on the card.
A multi-user HSL card can be used by anyone holding the card who belongs to the customer group stored on the card (adult or child). Multi-user cards cannot be converted into personal cards or vice versa.
You can load both a season ticket and value on your HSL card
You can either buy a season ticket or pay for your journeys with value stored on your card. If your travel by public transport regularly, e.g. to work or school, top up your HSL card with a season ticket. Loading value is a good option if you travel less frequently.
