Decisions of the HSL Executive Board on 24 January 2012

New ticketing and information system from Tieto Finland
Oy


The Executive Board selected Tieto Finland Oy as the supplier
of the second phase of HSL’s ticketing and information system
project. A separate bulletin will be issued providing more detail
on the issue.

 

Zone boundaries and ticket prices in the new fare and
ticketing system


The Executive Board will seek comments from HSL’s member
municipalities and Kuuma municipalities on the zone boundaries and
ticket prices proposed in the report. A separate bulletin will be
issued providing more detail on the issue. 

Route network plan for southern and western Helsinki

The Executive Board unanimously amended the route
network plan for southern and western Helsinki and approved the
amended plan as a guideline to be followed from the beginning of
the winter timetable period in 2012. The Executive Board added
route 17 Kruununhaka-Kamppi-Viiskulma in the plan and decided to
continue night service on tram route 4, which means that bus route
18N will not be extended to Katajanokka. 

Transport Service Plan 2012-2013

The Executive Board approved the amended proposal for
Transport Service Plan 2012-2013 as a guideline. A separate
bulletin will be issued providing more detail on the issue. 

Competitive tendering of services on Helsinki internal bus
routes and regional route 550

The Executive Board decided to tender the services
on Helsinki internal bus routes 16, 18, 18N, 39, 39N, 45 and 55, as
well as on the regional route 550 and Helsinki internal route 17.
The contracts can be awarded in the meeting of the Executive Board
in May 2012.

Compensation of the costs incurred by rise in the excise
tax on diesel fuel to operators


The Executive Board approved the compensation of the costs
incurred by rise in the excise tax on diesel fuel. The costs will
be compensated to operators by temporary adjustment of unit prices.

 

Contract between HSL and Inex Partners

The Executive Board approved a contract between HSL and Inex
Partners on financing of additional public transport costs in
Bastukärr.

Public Transport Safety Strategy

The Executive Board adopted an amended proposal for Public
Transport Safety Strategy for 2012-2016. A separate bulletin will
be issued providing more detail on the issue. 

Ticket inspection in 2011 and goals for 2012

On average, 3.6 percent of passengers traveled without a
valid ticket in 2011. HSL lost nearly EUR 10 million in ticket
revenue. The aim is that in 2012 intensified ticket inspection will
reduce the amount of passengers traveling without a valid ticket to
maximum 3.5 percent.

Agreement between HSL and VR on ticket inspection on
trains


HSL is responsible for ticket inspection on trains in the
whole of Finland. The Executive Board approved the agreement
between HSL and VR on ticket inspection on trains in 2012.

Resignation of Ville Lehmuskoski

The Executive Board approved the resignation of Mr. Ville
Lehmuskoski from his duties as the Director of Public Transport
Planning Department and authorized the Executive Director to draft
a revised ordinance to clarify the distribution of duties between
departments and units. 

Statement on increasing the Metro evening service

The Executive Board submitted a statement on the issue to the
Administration Centre of the City of Helsinki. 

Statement on the road plan for the Turvesolmu interchange
on the Turku Motorway


The Executive Board submitted a statement on the issue to the
Uusimaa Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the
Environment.

Statement on the road plans related to the second phase of
the improvement of Ring Road III in Vantaa

The Executive Board submitted a statement on the
issue to the Uusimaa Centre for Economic Development, Transport and
the Environment.
