HSL invites people to discuss the Tikkurila-Hakunila route network plan

HSL has started to prepare a bus route network plan for the
Tikkurila-Hakunia area in Vantaa. The plan is a follow up of  the
recently completed route network plans for Aviapolis and
Korso-Koivukylä.

The residents and other interested parties can give feedback on
the current route network, bus stops and trouble spots, as well as
submit their ideas for an improved bus service network.

HSL has opened an online Idea Workshop, where people can submit
their feedback and discuss the area's public transport services.
The Idea Workshop is available at
http://ideapaja.hsl.fi. The site also provides
background information about the plan (in Finnish). HSL seeks
residents’ opinions also in workshops and residents’ meetings.

Tikkurila-Hakunila plan in brief

The aim of the plan is to simplify the current route network
and prepare for increased number of residents and jobs as well as
for the introduction of service on the Ring Rail Line.

HSL will also prepare a public transport service plan for the
area for the situation in which services are launched on the Ring
Rail Line connecting the main rail line, the Airport and
Vantaankoski rail line. In addition, the plan will discuss
crosstown bus routes in Vantaa that run via Tikkurila-Hakunila.

The aim is to introduce the new route network at the same
time as train services commence on the Ring Rail Line, i.e. in
early 2015.
