Easy travel with day tickets
Numerous visitors are again expected to visit the Helsinki
region during the summer season. HSL’s day tickets are a perfect
option for visitors as they allow unlimited travel on public
transport. Last summer, some 177,00 day tickets were sold.
You can purchase a day ticket for 1 to 7 days. The tickets are
valid on all public transport in the Helsinki metropolitan area.
The tickets are available for all zones, both for adults and
children.
For example, a Helsinki internal one day ticket for adults costs
€8 while a regional ticket valid in Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen and
Vantaa costs €12. Children travel at half fare.
The day tickets have been increasing in popularity: last year,
some 177,000 day tickets were sold in June-August while in 2011 the
figure was about 154,000.
Tickets available also at large stores
Day tickets are loaded on single-charge cards. The tickets can
be used by anyone holding the car and they are from the first use.
You can also purchase a day ticket in advance.
Day tickets are readily available from various sales points, now
also at large stores. The tickets are sold, for example, at HSL's
service points and Helsinki City Tourist Office as well at
R-kiosks, K-Citymarkets and Prisma stores in the Helsinki
metropolitan area.
In addition, Helsinki internal and regional one day tickets are
available from HSL’s and VR’s ticket machines as well as from
drivers and conductors. The tickets purchased from ticket machines
of drivers are paper tickets and they are valid from the moment of
purchase.
