HSL’s Journey Planner again one of the most valued online services

HSL’s Journey Planner was rated the fourth most valuable online brand in a poll conducted by Taloustutkimus Oy in August and September. Only Google, Yle Areena and the Finnish Meteorological Institute came out ahead.

The survey was conducted using an internet panel. The target group was Finnish internet users aged 15-79 years. Nearly 3,000 people responded to the survey.

In a competition for the Best Mobile Service in Finland 2013 arranged by Teleforum ry, HSL’s Journey Planner and Kutsuplus applications were among the three best applications in the Utility & Productivity Services for Consumers category.

Teleforum ry is the digital service providers association in Finland. The aim of the Best Mobile Service competition is to encourage companies to develop new services and to give more visibility to the most innovative services.

Mobile services were divided into 13 categories. People could vote the nominees online and although the final decision was made by the competition jury, the results of the vote were also taken into account.

The Journey Planner was appreciated by the users for its practicality and convenience. Some 150,000 people use the service daily. The Journey Planner has been in use for 12 years already. Last spring the service was reformed and My departures and Disruption info services were integrated in the same interface. Users can also save their own routes and stops in a My Journey Planner account.

HSL’s Kutsuplus is a new kind of on-demand bus service which provides tailored rides in minibuses that can be booked online with a computer or mobile phone. Rides are paid in advance using a Trip Wallet. Riders can transfer money to their Trip Wallets from their credit card or bank account.
