Summer timetables to operate only for eight weeks

This summer HSL will not publish summer timetable booklets as
the summer timetables will  operate only for eight weeks. An
increasing number of passengers are using online and mobile
services to access timetable information.

The end of the school year at the beginning of June does not
significantly affect public transport passenger numbers. Although a
number of passengers switch to cycling and the summer holiday
season begins, there is ample demand for public transport also in
the summer months. HSL has responded to customer needs by
shortening the summer timetable season.

This year summer timetables will run from Monday 17 June. During
the summer period, passenger capacity will be reduced mainly on
peak hour services. Because the summer timetable season is
shortened, HSL also gives up the earlier practice of having
separate timetables for early and high summer.

Summer timetables conveniently online

HSL does not public timetable booklets for the eight-week summer
timetable season. Route-specific timetable leaflets will be
available onboard and at service points a few weeks before the
timetables take effect. An increasing number of passengers are
using mobile applications or HSL's web pages to access timetable
information.

You can use the stop-specific timetables service to create a
list of timetables of the routes serving a specific stop. My
departures timetable service allows you to create shortcuts to the
timetables of selected stops, edit them and open an
up-to-the-minute timetable, for example, on your mobile phone.
Route-specific timetables are available also as printable PDF
timetables.

Winter timetable booklets not delivered to homes

In the autumn, HSL will publish winter timetable booklets for
Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa, but they will not be delivered to all
households. You can pick up the booklet e.g. from a service point.
The winter timetables will run from 12 August.

On the basis of feedback received by HSL, most passengers think
it a good idea to stop the home delivery of timetable booklets e.g.
for environmental reasons. Many people throw the booklet away
directly. Also, the booklet is inflexible: it is not possible to
correct errors or changed timetables afterwards.
