In February, passengers can enjoy reading aphorisms on the electronic displays on trams and the Metro. There will also be aphorism posters at Metro stations. The event is organized for the sixth time.
The Aphorism Association of Finland invited people to send their aphorisms and nearly one hundred people responded to the invitation. The Association selected 20 aphorists whose aphorisms are now on display.
“Aphorisms on public transport are a great idea. A snappy aphorism can give you food for thought, encourage to look at things from a new perspective and brighten up people’s journeys,” says the Chair of the Aphorism Association Virpi Alanen.
“We are happy that this event has established itself as a part of the city’s cultural landscape. Many people already wait for the aphorisms to appear on the trams and trains and we get a lot of positive feedback."
