A penalty fare can be cancelled if you had a valid season ticket at the moment when the penalty fare was issued and you had, for example, forgotten your ticket at home. From 1 September 2016, a processing fee of 6 euros will be charged for the cancelling of a penalty fare. To have a penalty fare cancelled, you need to visit HSL’s Penalty Fares Office. If you presented the ticket inspector an ID with a photograph, you can also have the penalty fare cancelled at HSL service points at the Central Railway Station, in Itäkeskus or Pasila.
A processing fee will be charged for the cancelling of a penalty fare by presenting a valid season ticket from 1 September 2016. The fee will be 6 euros.
