City bike payment terminals now in operation

You can register as a city bike user for a day or week at bike stations with payment terminals. In this case, you do not need a Travel Card and HSL account.

For visitors, the most convenient way to borrow a city bike is to go to one of the five city bike stations with payment terminals: Kaivopuisto, Unioninkatu, Rautatientori/East, Kiasma or Hakaniemi Metro Station. At these stations, you can register as a city bike user for a day or week using your payment card. No online pre-registration is needed.

If you register for one day, you can rent 1-4 bikes at a time. To use a payment terminal, follow the instructions on the screen. You can select the language to be used (Finnish, Swedish or English). If you wish to register for the whole season, which runs until the end of October, go to hsl.fi/citybikes and register as a user.

All passes (day, week, whole season) cover up to 30 minutes of bike use at a time. Potential extra time is charged to your payment card. A video produced by HSL showing how to use a city bike is available at https://youtu.be/uCBKXB4GTr4.
