A pass for the whole season costs 25 euros, a weekly pass 10 euros and a day pass 5 euros. The fee is charged to a payment card you provide during the registration.
When your register, you get a personal cyclist ID and a PIN code that you need to pick up a bike. You can borrow a bike by entering your cyclist ID and PIN code on the keypad in the middle of a bike's handlebar. Instead of a cyclist ID, you can also use your HSL Travel Card for authentication.
You can ride up to 30 minutes for free each time you borrow a city bike. There is an extra charge for longer uninterrupted use of a bike. You can use a bike for a maximum of five hours at a time.
City bike information is available in the new Journey Planner that is being developed. The location of bike stations as well as real-time information about the availability of bikes are displayed in the Journey Planner. City bikes are offered as one mode of transport among others in route suggestions. You can try the new Journey Planner at beta.reittiopas.fi/kaupunkipyörät.
At first, there are 500 bikes at 50 bike stations. Bike stations are located within an area extending from Taka-Töölö to Sörnäinen. Constructionof te bike stations is underway in the city center. The goal that in 2017 there would be 1,500 bikes and 150 bike stations within an area extending from the heart of the city to Munkkiniemi, Pasila and Kumpula.

The city bike registration is now open at https://www.hsl.fi/citybikes. You can now register as a user for the whole season, which runs from the beginning of May to the end of October. Registration as a short-term user (for a day or week) will be possible from 2 May, when the city bikes are available for use.
