Student: Pop up service points for Travel Card updates now open

Late August/early September is the busiest time of the year at the Central Railway Station service point. To avoid queues, update your Travel Card as early in August and possible and visit the service point in the morning; there are hardly ever queues at 8am-9am. HSL has again opened pop up service points to ease the congestion at the permanent service points. All students are welcome to the pop up services points regardless of their institution of study.

Pop up service points:

University of Helsinki,  Kaisa Library lobby
Open Mon-Fri 8 August-9 September 9am-4pm
Only Travel Card updates (discount entitlement), no sales

Aalto University, Otaniemi
Otakaari 1, student hub
Open Mon-Fri 15 August-9 September 12noon-3.45pm
Travel Card updates (discount entitlement), value and season tickets

When you visit a service point to update your card, please bring with you your Travel Card and HSL’s student discount ticket application bearing the stamp and signature of your educational institution, or a student card approved by HSL (a blue SYL card, a blue SAMOK card, OSKU ry, Suomen Lukiolaisten Liitto, LYYRA) with a valid term sticker.

Those attending preparatory vocational education (VALMA) are not entitled to HSL’s student discount.

All students aged 30 years or over and those studying in liberal adult education programs in folk high schools must prove that either Kela or the Åland Office of Employment and Studies (AMS) has granted them student allowance or Kela has granted them rehabilitation subsidy. Accepted forms of student allowance are study grants and/or government guarantees for student loans. The number of study grant months is the time within which the studies should be completed in the legislator's opinion.
